The studio is generally used by Stefanie herself who studied Fine Art at University in Berlin and completed her Master’s Degree in Lucerne, Switzerland in Art in public spheres. She holds workshops from time to time in drawing, painting, (intuitive, realistic, abstract) printmaking, paper mache and mosaic. The accommodation is available for workshop participants, art lovers, artists, tourists and long term tenants who would like some time off to create, read, meditate or just do “nothing”.

This house was turned into the countries only Sculpture & Peace Park by Hanne Alpers more than 10 years ago. Omuntu Gardens was officially inaugurated by the then honorable Prime Minister Nahas Angula in September 12, 2009. Now Omuntu (Human Being) is turning a new page in its existence by art lover and enthusiast, Andrea Behnsen, who’s aim it is to continue its legacy. Inside Omuntu Gardens, you will be welcomed by a beautiful garden and wonderful energy made up of silence, tranquility and quietness.

Historically the building was the Omaruru Dampf Bakery, parts of the original building are among the oldest in Omaruru, the first records of which are 1903. For the Omaruru Art Fair most of Johnston’s work will be taken down and in its place there will be an exhibition of Namibian artists, in various mediums.
